It is possible, I do it and now I get to buy my chocolate and beer with money made passively online – which is just a fancy way of saying that I can make money whilst eating said chocolate on the couch.
So, if making money online or working from home is something that you are interested in, then since you searched for Legendary Marketer, I suppose we should check it out then hey?
Oh, and for those of you who don’t really like to read, then I made a nice video for you below as well so click on the big red square in the middle if that takes your fancy.
Otherwise, read on…
What Is Legendary Marketer?
In short, Legendary marketer is an online training program that promotes itself as able to give you all the information required to establish and run an affiliate marketing business aimed at high ticket commissions – meaning you sell expensive stuff meaning the commissions are higher than if you sold cheap stuff
Legendary Marketer will teach you to do this by paying for advertising and emailing people. They also recon you can set it all up in 15 Days.
So, let’s look get serious for a minute to look at this one and see whether it is worth the effort (and spending money on).
- Product name: Legendary Marketer
- Founders: Dave Sharpe
- Product type: Online affiliate marketing training program
- Price: $7 + upsells + Autoresponder costs + traffic purchase then monthly subscriptions ranging from $30 to up to $30,000 per month
- Best for: Affiliate marketers
- Is it a scam?: No
- Recommended: Look, Dave Sharpe is a tried and true successful affiliate marketer and the information here is good but you will need to spend quite a bit of of that chocolate money to make it all work so if you don’t have access to extra funds – or need that new streaming service that has just been released – then I would say no.
What Do You Get?
Ok, so with your initial layout (which let’s be honest, is really only the price of one cup of coffee) for the entry level package you get access to the members area Split into 15 days (hence the 15 day challenge). Each day contains access to:
- Training Video – This is where Dave runs your through his training in a mixture of personal discussions and replays of live stage presentations.
- Business Call setup – The business plan call is a Zoom meeting with an advisor who will take you through the program. Note: You cannot go past Day 3 without your business plan call which will attempt to upsell you to other training packages.
- Wake Up Legendary FaceBook Show – This gives you access to the daily Wake Up Legendary show via Facebook.
Look, let me be clear here – I am a strong believer in forgoing the odd beer in order to pay for some training to get me to the point of making money online – but I am personally not a fan of programs that make you pay an entry cost only to tell you that you will need to need to spend extra money on some of the many upsells to really get the program to work for you.
Sook over, let’s move on..
What else would you need?
So to be successful with Legendary Marketer, you will also need access to the following:
- An Email Auto responder
- Access to a Sales Funnel
- Online Advertising account
All of these will eat into your chocolate budget for sure.
What Are The Red Flags To Look For Online?
I mentioned above that the make money online field can start to look like scam city after a while. I mean I have been in this industry for some time now, and I have seen just about everything.
And just as it is with you car nuts out there who can smell a mule with a second hand sale a mile away, I like to think I have this down pat with online training programs.
So, here some of the ‘red flags’ to look out for when it comes to the program you were looking into – Legendary Marketer.
1. Programs That Don’t Offer a Free Trial. As I have said, I am all for making an investment in your online business, however what is the point in paying for something that is worthless, or a scam? Many hide behind this by not offering the option of a free trial to see if the program you are purchasing is really worth it.
Does Legendary Marketer offer a Free Trial? No, there is no available free trial. There is a $7 upfront cost for the base package with internal upsells involved – some of which are very expensive. There are also additional traffic, email, and autoresponder costs.
2. Programs That Don’t Clearly Outline Pricing. As a follow on from the above, many product sales pages will give you a base price but don’t outline what you get for that.
In most cases, they HIDE their pricing via the numerous upsells that appear only once you have made your first purchase. This sucks and the upsells often include essential functionality needed if you are going to get anywhere close to the promises on the sales page – not that this is usually really achievable anyway.
How much does Legendary Marketer Cost? The initial cost is $7, then $10 to get access to further e-book information and then $30 per month for the Marketer’s Club. There are also blueprint and mastermind access options ranging from $2500 up to $30000 for access to the Legendary Leadership Group. Wow! That is a lot of chocolate bars and fishing rods!
The training inside also discusses the use of funnel software and an autoresponder – which all add extra costs as well as the purchase of traffic – which is like having to build your own road to drive on. As you can see it is not just the $9 fee advertised on the front end, you are looking at at least $117 + a month recurring costs!
3. Programs That Use Long Winded Video Sales Pages / Squeeze Pages. If you visit a “sales page” and it runs for miles and miles without actually showing you what it is that you are purchasing, this is almost certainly going to be an expensive, overpriced scam. This is a marketing tactic – granted as effective one – but a marketing tactic all the same. They typically ask for your email or a small payment, and then you are going to be put through an extensive, and expensive sales funnel.
Other things to look for here include:
- Long sales videos telling you how you will need to give up your first born if you don’t buy but with no identification of the actual person behind the program or any demonstration of what you are actually purchasing.
- Fake testimonials telling me they made $1000’s in the first month that they owned the program.
- Constant reminders that “I know you have been scammed in the past, but this is different – this is the real deal” – This is like saying – ” I know I have cheated in the past, but I won’t now”
- A lot of bullet point sales pitches outlining just how much work you don’t need to do…
Does Legendary Marketer Use These Sales Pages? Always give credit where credit is due, the sales page for this program is not as bad as many others. You do get to see a video from Dave to prove he is a real person however there is still no real outline of what you are purchasing
4. Low TrustPilot Ratings. TrustPilot is the place where you should be going to do to get real consumer reviews about products/services that you plan on buying – kinda like the number of likes on FaceBook. If a company doesn’t existing on this website, or has a rating lower rating than 4.5 out 5 stars, then you may want to know why they are less popular than a Milli Vanilli Instagram post and there are definitely going to be better programs and services available.
Legendary Marketer Rating: 2.5/5.0.
Want Access To The Program That Taught Me How To Earn Money Online With A Trust Rating of 4.5 out of 5.0?
5. The Program Sells “Riches” Without Telling You The Process. We all know that in most cases, nothing is for nothing. So if you are being pushed the idea that you are going to make a lot of money of not much work – especially without telling you what you will be doing to earn this money – then it is maybe time to bail… Look for warning words such as ‘autopilot’ or an amount of commissions/day you will make.
Does Legendary Marketer Focus On The Riches? No, another a pass mark here. There are not promises of a lot of money, just an option to learn and build – big tick here.
6. Support options are available. In many cases, there are no direct ways to contact to the owner/developer to answer questions about their program – I mean you wouldn’t buy a motorbike if you couldn’t speak to the owner – so why should software be any different.
So, Email the company and if you don’t get a response within 48 hours max then that is probably the sort of help you can expect in the future.
Sadly you will usually need to purchase the program to test this as there are usually never any contact details on the sales pages either.
Does Legendary Marketer Have Support Options Available? Another tick, the program has solid support options.
7. No Access/Communication With the Owners. If the sales page does manage to oultine who it is that owns the product, then can you chat with them directly? If NOT, then this program is more than likely not going to be helpful. Owners of reputable systems make themselves available to their customers.
Can You Contact The Owner of Legendary Marketer: Yes, there is access to Dave Sharpe here – Yay!
8. Are you Just Purchasing “Information”? Of course there is absolutely a market out there for training platforms that are very effective – I mean, we purchase information on other stuff don’t we!. However, if the program is telling you they can help you earn money online but end up just providing you with “ideas” without offering you all the tools, services and levels of ongoing support that you need to succeed, then it may be time to walk away.
Unfortunately, many programs use their sales pages to charge you for their information, and then tell you that you need to purchase all sorts of stuff in order to actually use the techniques taught.
Are You Just Purchasing Information with Legendary Marketer? In the first instance, yes. And whilst this information is sound, it alone will not get you to the 15 day challenge without extra spend on an autoresponder and a sales funnel at the very least. These are additional fees, some of which are ongoing monthly costs.
Does the “Legendary Marketer″ program that you are reviewing meeting ANY of these points? Perhaps it is a good thing that you are checking this stuff out – afterall, you are about to spend some cash. Apart from some red flags in the sales processes, the information as I found it was pretty good and there is no doubt that the owner knows his stuff.
However, there is definitely not everything found in the one spot to help you establish your online business.
How Then Did I Make My Money Online?
Let’s not beat around the bush here! I used a program called Wealthy Affiliate. And I did so simply because it passed a lot more of the tests above than anything else I tried. And trust me, I went without a LOT of chocolate spending on rubbish! ,
But let’s be fair (after all, you didn’t search for this one did you!) and run it through the red flag check we outlined above:
1. Programs That Don’t Offer a Free Trial. One of the things that first attracted me to Wealthy Affiliate after losing money on other rubbish was the free trial.
Most people who join Wealthy Affiliate do so via the Free Starter Membership which provides you with enough access to get a website started – you can even munch on a Hershey Bar whilst you do it – I mean that is a winner right there!
There is no time limit to the starter membership and it gives you access to:
- 10 lessons on how to start with affiliate marketing – the information bit
- Access to 2 out of 12 Member Training Classrooms
- 1 free website
- Web hosting for your free website – the tools bit
- Access to the WA SiteBuilder to build and manage your website
- Limited access to Jaaxy – WA’s keyword research tool
- Access to Site Content – WA’s post writing and publishing tool
- 7 Days of Full Mentorship & Expert Help
- Access to Site Support.
2. Programs That Don’t Clearly Outline Pricing. Look, to succeed online, you will need to part with some of that chocolate money. Wealthy Affiliate has 3 available memberships clearly outlined on their pricing page.
They of course have the Starter membership which we discussed above that is free. Tehy do however also have the Premium ($49/mth) or Premium Plus+ ($99/mth) membership options with discounted yearly pricing also available.
But! There are no further upsells involved so once you have paid your monthly costs, then let the chocolate fountain (and maybe a cheeky chardonnay whilst binging on Netflix as well) run!. Which is obviously way less than the upsells of Legendary Marketer.
It would also be pretty low of me not to outline here however that in order to fully create your online business, you will at some stage need to invest in a membership option. Pricing table is as follows:
3. Programs That Use Long Winded Video Sales Pages / Squeeze Pages. Yes, Wealthy
Affiliate does have a decent sized sales page – which you will see when you click on the buttons in this post – do it – even if just to see the page haha.
However this is a full website that clearly explains everything to do with the program, what you will get and how much it will all cost. All without the fake testimonies and empty promises of lots of money for no work.
4. Low TrustPilot Ratings. WealthyAffiliate.com has a 4.8 STAR rating on TrustPilot – I mean that is right up there with Taylor Swift numbers – well not really – but you get the point. The owners personally get back to each and every comment as well.
Want Access To The Program That Taught Me How To Earn Chocolate Money Online?
5. The Program Sells “Riches” Without Telling You The Process. Wealthy Affiliate offers the best of both worlds, a full training suite and all of the tools required to put it into practice. There are no promises of getting rich quick and the reality is, just with anything you work at, you first have to build a solid foundation and you need to understand the business.
As within the pricing table above, Your Wealthy Affiliate membership – even the free starter option – you will have access to all the tools, training and platform you need to create a business of any size online.
6. Support options are available. You will have access to a complete support network in both the training and website build arenas. Training support is provided via the Questions section and Site Support offer an extremely fast response to any technical website issues that arise.
You can even make friends and collaborate if that turns you on as well – or you can work alone. Totally up to you and your preferences.
Oh, and for the technical minded – their hosting package also offers assistance with site speed, backups and other optimization options as well.
7. No Access/Communication With the Owners. You can contact Wealthy Affiliate directly from their website without being a member. They have a contact form, and the owners freely share their email addresses if you ever need to get in touch with them or have any questions.
They are kyle@wealthyaffiliate.com and carson@wealthyaffiliate.com, feel free to reach them directly if you have question (about the platform, not to ask what chocolate beer tastes like) and of course as a member you are going to have access to them within the community.
8. Are you Just Purchasing “Information”. For me, I strongly believe that everything you need to build your own online business is all found within Wealthy Affiliate. And all within your chosen membership option.
Compare that to Legendary Marketer’s base subscription costs alone that can reach up to between $30 a month and up to $30000 and you still can’t build your website etc. all in the one place.
You can learn just as much if not more in Wealthy Affiliate (and for way less).
Why I Recommend Wealthy Affiliate
I joined the program myself back in 2018 as I wanted to sell essential oils online. And after trying quite a few programs where I paid good money for not much in return, I found Wealthy Affiliate. Within 2 weeks I had a website created and was well on the way to earning my first dollar – which I managed within the next month.
And like the Legendary Marketer program above, this platform can help you build a business in 15 days, just with a physical website and domain included – for way less cost.
As with any business, it takes time and dedication to reach success and not everybody who joins will make money. That said, if you follow the training and take advantage of the tools available, there is no reason why you can’t make money either.
What Do They Teach You?
In the interests of keeping things simple, the training within Wealthy Affiliate focuses on four simple steps as follows:
Let’s explain these in more detail:
Step 1: Choose an Interest – Have you ever looked at someone else and said “How lucky are they that they get to work in area that they love!”. Well guess what, this is your opportunity to do the same. I had a website i worked on around fishing – and then I sold it… For $17,000!
Step 2 – Build a Website – A website is the tool we use to talk about our niche in order to earn income. And of course one the main purposes of Wealthy Affiliate is to assist you with this very step.
Step 3 – Attract Visitors – For this next part, think about you local sports store. It can be stocked with products but when your little one needs some new football boots, how do you know it is there? Getting people to visit your website – called traffic – is what this part is all about. And WA has all the training to help you with this as well.
Step 4 – Earn Revenue – Ok, elephant in the room, this is what it is all about – making money. And this is the program that helped me do just that!
